Sending a smoke signal...
Thank you very much for your ongoing dedication to our blood drive partnership with the American Red Cross and the community support for Smoke Signals.
Every day, we, Smoke Signals™ is deeply moved by the kindness and generosity of spirit you bring to our vital mission of blood drives. However it is at times like these – times of great uncertainty – that we are truly in awe of your unwavering commitment, to sign-up and GIVE the GIFT of LIFE.
As thousands of blood drives around the nation were cancelled due to the impact of COVID-19, please know that our drive protected the health and well-being of the most vulnerable among us – including accident victims, cancer patients, those suffering from chronic illnesses and many others.
From the bottom of our heart, THANK-YOU for stepping up and showing up to help: volunteer, collect and donate lifesaving blood, even as the circumstances of the coronavirus outbreak often made it difficult to do so.
We share this Certificate of Outstanding Service and an honorary badge with you, received today.

“We are honored to be a charity of choice for the Smoke Signals™ Charity Auto Show.
Their support helps us connect with communities that are committed to giving back,
and we look forward to partnering with them in the future.”
Our Inaugural Event in 2017 Smoke Signals™ Charity Auto Show was held at Mystic Lake
9.16.17
On this Saturday morning, after a brief morning rain shower and
ominous clouds overhead, cars, trucks, motorcycles... of all makes, models and years came roaring in to Mystic Lake.
When they left, a blood drive to help replenish depleted inventories and thousands of dollars was raised for special causes.

Smoke Signals™ Helping The Homeless Since 2017
Driven to Lend A Hand | Help us give shelter and a meal.
Smoke Signals™ is the proud sponsor of evening meals and breakfast to help 60+ Minnesotans without a home.
This includes the purchasing, preparation, serving and clean-up.
This includes the purchasing, preparation, serving and clean-up.
Homeless strikes people from all walks of life. It is without prejudice. The idea of our providing support and sponsoring an evening meal came to me when I was attending a November meeting at Grace Lutheran Church. I witnessed Grace opening their doors and hearts to a large group of people forming a line to come in from the cold.
I asked a few folks within the building what was happening and it was explained that Grace along with a few other Churches were part of the Matrix Emergency Shelter Program. Their purpose is to aid those Dakota County homeless in need of food and shelter.
It immediately came to mind, Smoke Signals and our Driven to be Charitable mission would be a perfect fit and we committed to sponsoring an evening. It’s the least we can do.

This is how it works.
Shoe Away Hunger, a program under Good in the ‘Hood headquartered in Bloomington, collects then sells the footwear at one of their warehouse locations or from one of their two mobile units. They ask for a suggested donation of only $5.00 a pair. Monies are then used for bulk food purchases for the Food Programs. Shawn Morrison, Good in the ‘Hood Executive Director, shares, “The impact is truly amazing. For every one pair of new or gently-used footwear received, we are able to feed one person with up to 7 days of essential groceries through our Feeding The Future programs. Additionally, many who may not otherwise be able to afford can purchase high-quality footwear. This is particularly important during Minnesota’s cold winter months, now.” |
|
Smoke Signals™ Overdrives 2017 Holiday Shoe Away Hunger Program Goals.
|
This 2017 holiday season, Smoke Signals™ Founders: Rosemary Frank & Sheldon Bryant set out to achieve the lofty goal of raising $10,085 for essential groceries to help those individuals and families facing food insecurity.
With the support of generous individuals, families, businesses and organizations, Smoke Signals™ exceeded its stretch goal by $1,365 by collecting 2,090 pair of new and gently used footwear, along with gifts of clothing, toys, and cash donations. |
|
Rosemary shares, “I can’t be more excited and am so thankful of all those that have supported Smoke Signals. What a thrill to help others in need, especially during the holiday season and Minnesota’s cold winter months. With their support and working with Shoe Away Hunger, A Good in the 'Hood program, we will be able to provide essential groceries for nearly 600 Minnesota families of four for 1-week, while providing high quality footwear for those who otherwise may not be able to afford!"
