Background

  Launched in 2016 to raise awareness and funds for a variety of causes by Colleen Callahan former market founder aka Veterans Harvest Market, now The Little Market That Could™ will continue to serve in 2019 as an outlet for the University of MN Extension - Power of Produce program (Also known as: (P.O.P.) which is an initiative/incentive to get fresh, locally grown food into the mouths of low-income youth 4-11yr olds additionally we have added seniors 62 and over to our Prior Lake/Savage area registration as we continue to partner & collaborate with Scott County Community Health program -SHIP.
  Year two, 2017, according to Callahan, it was a bumper crop year as the market was able to donate nearly $8K in monetary relief and In Kind Donations to various organizations.
  Year three, 2018, Founder & Organizer of Veterans Harvest Market- Colleen Callahan's outreach  piqued the interest of:
Rosemary Frank & Sheldon Bryant, Co-Founders of "Smoke Signals™" they promptly partnered & created a "free-will donations" roll in of Classic Cars from all directions, makes, models & years to join in on the festivities of this awesome bringing together community gathering, on a given Thursday up to 20 "Show Rides" rolled in to pop hoods, share stories, shop, mingle, eat & enjoy free educational attractions.
  Year four, During 2019, Founder & Organizer- Colleen Callahan will mentor Team Smoke Signals™ as they step into her role as organizers.
The Little Market That Could™ will be open (weather permitting) from 4 to 7 p.m. each Thursday June 20th until Oct. 10th in 2019 at their NEW LOCATION. 
Year Five 2019, Grand Opening takes place on JUNE 20th with ribbon cutting, cake and more.  A SPECIAL THURSDAY is planned JOIN US at The Little Market That Could™July 4th Holiday HRS 3PM-6PM "Dunk The Mayor" Fundraiser (Thank you Kirt Briggs) free watermelon by the slice until gone donated by: Fresh Thyme Market and additional community free fun along with the award winning Teddy Bear Band performance.
​The Little Market That Could™ holds a Grand Finale in September. There will be ample room for 80 "Show Rides" weekly at our new partnering site location: Tractor Supply Company, TSC-Manager Al is excited to be host site and has held community co-ops previously at various sites, this will be the FIRST for this location and what a awesome addition it will make for the business, community and City of Prior Lake and surrounding areas.

Smoke Signals™ has been sending Smoke Signals™ by bringing the community many fine fundraising events and charity shows, since opening Smoke Signals™ | Charity Auto Shows & Community Events 2017.

The Official Ribbon Cutting of The Little Market That Could™ Farmers Market Thursdays 4-7PM took place on June 20th and considering the rain we had a awesome event that 250+ joined us on-site at Tractor Supply Co.

This is A Ongoing Seasonal Open Air Community Farmers Market Open to all!  Made possible by generous: volunteers, sponsors, grants, vendor & community participation.
Both non profit and for profit Valued vendors are encouraged to attend: handmade arts using many mediums, fresh seasonal farm produce from local farms & farm families, food trucks, DJ for wellness, educational attractions and activities alongside a classic vehicle roll-in show all make, model, years.
Smoke Signals™ is Featuring registration until further notice the UofM Power of Produce Program (P.O.P.) for those residents that register with us that reside in Prior Lake/Savage area ages 4-12 & 62+ a healthy food incentive/initiative in partnership with Scott County Community Health programs -SHIP. We encourage you to register early as funding is limited.
Update June 20th, P.O.P. will finish it's Prior Lake/Savage open registration on August 29th, 2019. Those who have signed up by 8.29.19 will continue to receive Market Tokens as they are available or until last day of The Little Market that Could™
The Little Market That COULD™ will continue to donate pounds of food to the Scott, Carver and Dakota counties CAP Agency via the generous goodwill of our on-site farmers, drop-off bins. Smoke Signals™ will continue to invite local farmers to attend and participate in the Power of Produce, a farmer’s market incentive program aimed at getting healthy food to youth and seniors from the University of Minnesota Extension and the Scott County Health Improvement Partnership - SHIP.
